LINCOLN AND HIP-HOP STAR COMMON SHOWCASE ASPIRING LYRICISTS
Posted February 22th, 2008
Lincoln and hip-hop star Common are shining the spotlight on the best aspiring lyricists in the new “Lincoln Spotlight” music contest. It’s an online event open to the public that invites contestants to create an original song and video using tracks available at www.lincolnlounge.com.
Lyricists who enter “Lincoln Spotlight” must create original lyrics and a video articulating their interpretation of one of the Lincoln brand truths, which include “Advancing the American Dream,” “Exploring What It Means to Reach Higher,” “Daring to Do More” and “Pride in One’s History.” All lincolnlounge.com visitors can vote on their favorite entries.
The Grand Prize winner, who will be determined by Common and a select panel of music industry insiders, will receive $10,000 and a coveted opening for Common at one of his 2008 performances.
Last fall, Lincoln and Common announced a multifaceted alliance to promote the 2008 Lincoln Navigator, which will include performances and personal appearances.
