While sketching the Lincoln MKZ interior, Soo Kang drew heavily from her knowledge of biomimicry - the study of nature as the genesis of design.

She was specifically attracted to the graceful undersea flight of a manta ray, which served as her inspiration while crafting the instrument panel’s fluid lines.

"When you look at the instrument panel, the upper section looks like a manta ray - a beautiful surface with a sense of fluidity."
