What is Lincoln MyKey®*?

MyKey allows you to program keys with restricted driving modes. This is typically used to promote healthy driving habits for new vehicle users and set limitations for valets. You can program the restrictions to all keys except one.

Notes:

  • Any keys that you did not program are administrator (admin) keys. Be sure to label your MyKey, so you can distinguish it from the admin key.
  • If you do not have an admin key, you will need to purchase one from a Lincoln Retailer to clear the MyKey settings. See Replacing a Lost Key.
  • MyKey functionality varies slightly with some models. Refer to your Owner's Manual for MyKey availability and settings specific to your vehicle.

Standard Settings

Not every vehicle includes the features listed below. If your vehicle has this equipment, you cannot change the following settings when using a MyKey:

  • The Belt-Minder warning chime stays activated, and the audio system sound volume remains muted until the safety belts are buckled.
  • The low fuel or low charge warning will activate earlier, giving the MyKey user more time to refuel or recharge.
  • Driver assist features, if equipped on your vehicle, will be turned on. These may include parking aids and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross Traffic Alert.
  • Satellite radio, if equipped on your vehicle, will have restrictions on adult content turned on automatically.

Optional Settings

You can configure certain vehicle feature settings when you first create a MyKey. You can also change the settings afterward with an admin key.

  • Limits can be set on speed (up to 80 miles per hour) and audio volume (up to 45 percent of the maximum). The speed-sensitive or speed-compensated automatic volume control will also be disabled.
  • You can set various vehicle speed minders so that when the MyKey driver exceeds your preselected speed, the speed will be shown in the display, followed by an audible tone.
  • You can enable the Always On setting for Advance Trac or traction control, 911 Assist or Emergency Assist, or the Do Not Disturb feature if your vehicle is equipped with these features. When Always On is enabled for these features, the MyKey driver will be unable to switch them off.

Create MyKey Settings

  1. Choose which key fob will become the MyKey, and insert it into the ignition.

Notes:

  • Once the vehicle is switched off, an admin key is required to change or clear any MyKey settings.
  • Once a MyKey is created, the information display can be used to determine the following:
    • How many admin keys and MyKeys are on the vehicle.
    • The total distance the vehicle traveled with MyKey.

Clear MyKey Settings

Important:

  • Admin keys can be purchased from a local Lincoln Retailer. See Replacing a Lost Key.
  • Clearing MyKey settings removes all restrictions and returns all key fobs to their original admin status. They cannot be cleared individually.
  1. Switch the ignition on using an admin key.
  2. Take one of the following steps:
    • Using the information display:
      1. Navigate to Settings.
      2. Select MyKey.
      3. Choose Clear MyKey.
      4. Hold the OK button until they see a message indicating that all MyKeys cleared.
    • Using the SYNC screen:
      1. Tap Settings.
      2. Select Vehicle.
      3. Tap MyKey and follow the on-screen instructions. A confirmation message will appear after all MyKey settings are cleared.

If the steps above do not work, you can schedule an appointment with your preferred Lincoln Retailer for programming assistance.
