What is the Reverse Sensing System* in my Lincoln?

Available Reverse Sensing System uses sensors in the rear bumper and a warning sound to alert you of obstacles behind your vehicle. 

The rear parking sensors are active when the transmission is in reverse (R) and the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h).
