Why did the software update not start for my Lincoln vehicle?
There are reasons why a scheduled software update did not start, such as your vehicle was not off, not in park, or the doors were open.
Software Update Pre-Conditions
The following items must be completed before attempting the next scheduled software update, or you may receive an error message:
- Gas vehicles must be on and running for at least 30 minutes before initiating a software update.
- Your vehicle is stopped and parked.
- Your parking brake is engaged.
- The update is scheduled for before or after 12 a.m. (not exactly 12 a.m.).
- Your vehicle's ignition is off.
- All your doors, the hood, and the trunk are closed.
- Your headlights and parking lamps are turned off.
- Your hybrid vehicle is not charging.
If the above conditions are not met, you will receive a Vehicle Not Updated message on your SYNC®* screen. Address the reason contained in the message before the next scheduled update.
If you still receive error messages for the failed update, contact the Lincoln Client Relationship Center at 1-800-521-4140 or by selecting Live Chat at the bottom right of lincoln.com/support.
