How do I activate my vehicle's modem using the Lincoln app?
You can enable your vehicle's modem by using the Lincoln app* and adjusting the Connectivity Settings in your vehicle's SYNC®** or Lincoln Digital Experience† system. Activating the vehicle's modem enables remote commands and other features.
Requirements
Before you begin, the following conditions must be met.
- Your vehicle has a modem.
- Your vehicle is added to the Lincoln app.
- Your device has a strong cellular signal.
- Your Vehicle's Connectivity Settings are turned on.
Connecting to Your Vehicle's Modem
To connect to your vehicle:
- Enter and turn your vehicle on in an open, well-ventilated, and safe area.
- Open and log in to the Lincoln app.
- Select Connect to Vehicle.
Note: If your vehicle is equipped with a modem and the Connect to Vehicle button does not appear, contact a Lincoln app Client Experience Manager through Account > Help.
- Tap I've Started my Vehicle.
- Read and accept the prompt on your vehicle screen.
Note: It may take up to two minutes for the connection to complete.
- Press Check Connection Status once you accept the in-vehicle prompt.
The Lincoln app will route you back to the Vehicle screen, and the remote commands (if available) should appear below your vehicle's image.
Tips if You Are Unable to Activate
- If you receive a "Feature Unavailable for fleet vehicles" message, contact a Lincoln app Client Experience Manager through Account > Help for additional assistance.
