What is Phone As A Key™* in my Lincoln vehicle?

Phone As A Key works with the Lincoln Way®** App and allows you to access and drive your vehicle without the need for a physical key.

Key Features

  • Unlock and lock the doors
  • Open the liftgate
  • Turn the vehicle on and off remotely
  • Start and drive your vehicle
  • Allows up to four virtual keys to be assigned to one vehicle

Technical requirements

You must have:

  • An Apple® Smartphone with Apple iOS 14.0 or newer or an Android™ Smartphone with Android OS 8.0 or newer.
  • At least Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) version 4.2 on your phone.
  • Bluetooth turned on at all times for correct operation.
  • Lincoln Way App (latest released version) installed and running on your smartphone with an active account.
  • Lincoln Way Connect*** (modem) and Phone As A Key activated prior to the first use of Phone As A Key.
  • Your Bluetooth signal within 130 feet (40 meters) to authorize the smartphone for use.


Phone As A Key is available on all 2021 and 2022 Lincoln vehicles.
