My Phone Is Experiencing Battery Drain Issues. What Do I Do?

We’ve heard from a few clients that there’s a battery drain issue on some iPhones.

We apologize if you’ve been affected. So, together with Apple®, we've identified a software issue that, when updated, should help improve battery life.

To take advantage of the update, make sure your device has the latest versions of iOS and the Lincoln Way App.

Update, January 15, 2021. When you update to iOS version 14.4, the battery statistics do not reset.

  1. Go to Settings on your phone.
  2. Scroll down to Battery.
  3. You will see two tabs: Last 24 Hours and Last 10 days.

If you still see the drain in the Last 10 Days tab, there could be data remaining from iOS version 14.2 and below.

To verify that the drain issue was resolved, check the Last 24 hours tab after you update to iOS version 14.4.

If you are still experiencing issues, there are actions you can take to mitigate the impact:

  1. Force close the Lincoln Way App.
    • iOS devices without a Home button
      • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.
      • Swipe left or right until you locate Lincoln Way.
      • Swipe up on Lincoln Way.
    • iOS devices with a Home button
      • Double-click the Home button.
      • Swipe left or right until you locate Lincoln Way.
      • Swipe up on Lincoln Way.
  2. Restart your phone.

The Lincoln Way App, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available through a free download. Message and data rates may apply.
