What is Lincoln's Automatic Engine Shutdown?
Vehicles with Intelligent Access and Push-Button Start have the ability to turn off if the engine has been idling for an extended period. This feature can be disabled temporarily.
Notes:
- Automatic Engine Shutdown cannot be disabled permanently. It re-enables the next time the vehicle starts.
- The instructions here are specific for vehicles with SYNC®* 3.
- This feature is also designed to save battery power.
- Refer to your owner's manual for:
- SYNC 4.
- When the steps below do not match your vehicle.
- Instructions can vary by vehicle model.
Temporarily Disabling Automatic Engine Shutdown
Select the appropriate option below:
SYNC 3 Touchscreen
- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC 3 screen.
- Select Vehicle.
- Toggle 30min Max Idle to Off.
Information Display
- Scroll to Settings on the information display using the left-hand steering wheel control.
- Press OK to select Vehicle.
- Deselect the Auto Engine off box.
