Why is my activation pending in the Lincoln app?

Your Lincoln app activation can go into a pending status for multiple reasons, including signal strength and approval status. Use the steps below for more details.

Activation Pending in the Lincoln App

Refer to the table below for your next steps based on the pending access issue.

SituationSteps
You are the primary user, complete the vehicle connection.
  1. Safely enter your vehicle.
  2. Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.
  3. Confirm that your in-vehicle connectivity settings are on.
  4. Log in to the Lincoln app.
  5. Press Add Vehicle.
  6. Select Scan Code.
  7. Choose one of the following options on the pop-up message for camera access:
    1. Selecting Allow will allow the Lincoln app to access your phone's camera. The scan window will appear to capture your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and route you to the Vehicle screen.
    2. Selecting Don't Allow will prevent the Lincoln app from accessing your camera, and you will need to type in your VIN.
      1. Tap Enter VIN Manually.

        Note: If you need help locating your VIN, tap the Find Your VIN link or the Find Your QR Code link.
         
      2. Enter your VIN.
      3. Select Next.
  8. Your vehicle should appear in the garage.
You receive a message advising your Connectivity Settings are Off, enable your connectivity settings.

If your vehicle has successfully been connected, the Lincoln app will route you back to the vehicle dashboard screen and the remote commands (if available) should appear below your vehicle image.

You are a secondary user, check your access status.
  1. Open the Lincoln app.
  2. Tap the Access Pending tile.
  3. Select Check My Access Request.

One of the following options will appear:

  • Access Approved: You will be taken to the vehicle's dashboard screen.
  • Access Pending: An authorized driver has not approved your request.
  • Access Denied: Your request has been denied.
