How do I disable Apple CarPlay®* with SYNC®**?

To disable Apple CarPlay using your vehicle's SYNC system, confirm which SYNC generation you have using the resources below, then select the appropriate drop-down menu.

Identify Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

There are two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation:

  • The SYNC and Navigation Updates page allows you to enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update, or select Login and use your Lincoln credentials. Your current SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Disable Apple CarPlay


To disable Apple CarPlay:

  1. Select Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Tap on the Phone List setting.
  3. Select your iPhone from the list of devices.
  4. Tap on Disable.

Note: Apple CarPlay may need to be disabled in order to use some Lincoln Way®† App functions.


To disable Apple CarPlay:

  1. Select Home on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press Apple CarPlay Preferences.
  3. Choose your iPhone from the list of devices.
  4. Select the drop-down arrow and press Disable to disconnect.

Apple CarPlay will be disabled, and normal SYNC functionality will resume.
