How do I find my Lincoln vehicle's Electronic Serial Number (ESN)?

To locate your ESN, identify which generation of SYNC you have, then select the appropriate drop-down menu below.

You may need your ESN when contacting SiriusXM, or when attempting to update your SYNC navigation maps.


  • The ESN for SiriusXM and for navigation maps are different.
  • The ESN for SiriusXM should start with a V or a W.

Identify Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

There are two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation:

  • The SYNC and Navigation Updates page allows you to enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or log in with your Lincoln credentials, and select Check for update. Your current SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Locate your ESN

Select your SYNC version from the drop-down menus below.


  1.  Press the Settings button on your vehicle's SYNC screen.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Touch About SYNC.

  4. Scroll down until you see SYNC Serial Number (ESN).

 Option 1:

  1. Go to Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2.  Select SIRIUS to view your ESN.

Option 2:

  1. Tap Audio on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press SIRIUS.
  3. Tune the Satellite Radio to channel 0 to view your ESN.

Option 3:

  1. Go to Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.

  1. Press the Info button, which is a lowercase "i" with a square around it.
  2. Go to System Info on your vehicle's touchscreen to view your ESN.

  1. Press the Menu button on the left side of the screen.
  2. Use the touchscreen to access the System Information menu.
  3. Use the arrows on the touchscreen to locate the ESN.

SYNC Gen 1

Option 1:

Hold the SIRIUS and Preset 1 buttons together at the same time to view the ESN.

Option 2:

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Use the Up and Down arrows to scroll through the menu options until you see System Info.
  3. Tap Ok on this menu.
  4. Use the Up and Down arrows to view the ESN.
