How do I update my SYNC®* settings preferences?
You can adjust the time, Bluetooth®**, and more preferences in the Settings menu of your SYNC system.
Changing SYNC Preferences
Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to modify your SYNC settings:
Note: If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation
Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation are the:
- SYNC and Navigation Updates page. Either:
- Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Search.
- Log in with your Lincoln credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and tap Select Vehicle.
Note: Your SYNC generation will appear on the right side of the page, under the “SYNC Current Version” heading.

SYNC 4
To set preferences with SYNC 4:
- Select the Settings tile.
- Choose Preferences.
- Adjust any of the following settings:
- Clock: Set time, select mode, auto daylight savings time, and more.
- Sound: Adjust speaker preferences.
- Bluetooth: Edit the Bluetooth-enabled device list.
- Driver Assist: Lock in the preferences for driver-assist technology use.
- Select Apply to save the changes.
*Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
