Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I don’t charge my vehicle?
If you do not charge your vehicle, it will drive like a traditional hybrid, efficiently combining the gas engine and battery power without any impact on vehicle performance. In Preserve EV mode, the engine will charge the high voltage battery until it reaches 75% state of charge, if not already at that minimum level. Once 75% state of charge is achieved it will drive like a traditional hybrid, combining gas engine and battery power while utilizing regenerative braking, which recovers energy from braking and stores it as battery power.
What is Level 1 charging?
Level 1 charging uses a standard 120-volt outlet to charge your Lincoln Grand Touring vehicle. A dual-voltage charging cord capable of charging at Level 1 and Level 2 is included with the lease or purchase of a Lincoln Grand Touring vehicle. Plug your charging cord into the outlet and then into your vehicle’s charge port. A full charge is achieved overnight in about 10 to 11 hours.
What is Level 2 charging?
Level 2 charging uses a dedicated 240-volt outlet for faster charging, with a full charge achieved in 3–4 hours. At Level 2, at least a 20-amp circuit breaker and compatible wall outlet are required. (Note: A higher amp load may be advisable if you wish to support charging an all-electric vehicle in the future.) When you’re ready to charge, simply plug the dual voltage charging cord into the Level 2 adapter and then plug the adapter into the wall outlet.
