How do I use SYNC®* 3 voice commands?

IMPORTANT: Your phone must be paired with and connected to SYNC.

  • Press the Voice button on your steering wheel.
    • A message will appear in the bottom, left-hand corner of your SYNC screen that tells you your vehicle is "Listening" and ready for your voice command.
  • You can use the Voice button and say "What can I say?"
  • You can use the Voice button and say "Help".
    • For help with your phone, for instance, you can say "Phone Help".
  • Enhanced features such as text-message read-back and one-shot dial have been added.
    • When a new text message comes in, press the Voice button and say any of the following:
      • "Reply to text message"
      • "Listen to text message"
      • Or, to listen to a specific message, "Listen to message 3"
    • Say "Dial", followed by a phone number, and SYNC will dial the number for you.

Tip: Your SYNC microphone is just overhead, so be sure to speak clearly.
