How do I report a successful SYNC installation?

You can report a completed SYNC®* update on the SYNC software update website. You need to use your computer and the USB drive you performed the update with.

To record a successful SYNC software update:

  1. Insert the flash drive, also known as a USB or thumb drive, you used for the update into your computer.
  2. Go to the SYNC software update page.
  3. Scroll down to Step Three: Confirm Update on the SYNC software update page.
  4. Click on Browse for log file.
  5. Browse the flash drive you used to update your SYNC system.
  6. Select the XML log file in the "SYNCMyRide" folder.

Note: An example of the file you will upload is "sync_48474463_1A2B3C4D5E6F8G8H9.xml." Your filename will differ because it will contain your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
